Located on the Lancashire coast just south of Lancaster itself Glasson Dock is a beautiful base from which to explore the surrounding area and enjoy some of the delights of this historic port.

The harbour at Glasson originally opened in 1787, following the demise of Lancaster as a port, and was at its height the largest port in the north west, importing cotton, sugar, spices and slaves from Africa and the Indies. Lancaster Canal was important in affording swift distribution of cargo landed at the port into the heart of industrial Lancashire. Glasson is still a thriving port handling over 150,000 tonnes of cargo annually.

In the town you’ll find pubs, a cafe and famous smokehouse from which you can buy some great kippers. There’s walking and cycling on the coastal paths and if you like birds there’s a RNIB reserve nearby.

Bowling in the village - don’t forget our bowls! A £3 per person green fee will apply. Please let our stewards know on arrival to site if you would like to join in.

Crabbing on the docksite - bring you crabbing gear and bait

Pamper afternoon - bring face masks, foot baths (washing up bowls are accepted), wine and nibbles

Evening socials round the campfire

Junior youth pool party (paddling pool)
